Thanks to the great work that our physios did at the Judo National Training Camp at the AIS in Canberra in July, PhysioWISE has been recognised as a preferred provider for therapy services for all Combat Sports athletes with the AIS.
The national training camp brought together the top Judo players from around the country along with some international players from New Zealand, Japan and Brazil. The athletes learnt new techniques from international experts brought in specifically for this camp, undertook task-specific training and of course there was a lot of practice of the techniques and sparring in general.
The physios, which included a team from Brisbane along with our PhysioWISE therapists, were kept very busy throughout the week-long camp with numerous training injuries to attend to as well as a few long term issues that some of the players brought into the camp.
Whilst we already look after a number of elite athletes, this preferred provider status from the AIS is a nice recognition of the wonderful work our physios do on a daily basis with all athletes – amateur or professional, elite or otherwise.
